On 26 February 2026, a FACA captain clashed with soldiers under his command in Ouadda-Maikaga, closest to Sam-Ouandja (Ouadda, Haute-Kotto). Soldiers accused the captain of withholding their food allowance payments and using the funds for personal benefit. The captain set fire to a former MINUSCA base used as accommodation by a corporal. There were no casualties.
