On 26 February 2026, military forces from the Rapid Intervention Battalion clashed and repelled an attack by ISWAP/Boko Haram (JAS) militants (coded as Boko Haram (JAS) based on militant activity in Mayo-Sava) at a military post in Sammana, coded to the closest most populated area, Mora (Mayo-Sava, Extreme-Nord). 1 military officer and at least 6 militants were killed during the clash. The military officers recovered weapons and ammunitions.
