On 25 February 2026, the police exchanged fire with, and killed a member of an unknown armed group in Purana Shalla village (Gurdaspur, Punjab) during an encounter. The assailant was involved in the killing of two policemen near Dorangla on 22 February (coded separately). The police also arrested another man involved in the murders. Total 1 fatality.
