SAA event in Sistan and Baluchestan, Zahedan area, Iran, Islamic Republic of on Wed 25th February 2026

Around 25 February 2026 (as reported), an armed clash erupted in Sistan and Baluchestan province (coded to Zahedan city) when IRGC Quds forces in a joint operation with FARAJA (NAJA) Police and intelligence forces raided hideouts to arrest members of an unidentified armed group, who had previously attacked and killed three military officers and a civilian (coded separately). It was claimed that authorities seized a significant cache of ammunition including RPG-7 launchers, American M4 rifles equipped with night-vision scopes, several Kalashnikov rifles fitted with grenade launchers, handguns with ammunition, and weapon suppressors during the operation. Officials said that 8 members of a network linked to foreign intelligence services were arrested and 3 others were killed during clashes. Total 3 fatalities.
