Air Delivered event in Kayin, Ya Thayt Gu area, Myanmar on Tue 24th February 2026

On 24 February 2026, near Ya Thayt Gu village (Myawaddy district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military conducted a drone strike and dropped bombs at the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army at the Hpa Lu - Me Ka Nei road (locally known as Ye Kone) around 1:30 pm. A spokesperson of the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army claimed that they were attacked by the military with drones while they were helping civilians whose vehicle had broken down on the road while going to buy groceries at Myawaddy town. Karen Information Center News and Network Media Group reported that 2 members of the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army and 3 civilians were killed and five other civilians were injured. Khit Thit Media reported that 6 civilians were killed and 5 were injured. Fatalities coded as 5 (2 DKBA members and 3 civilians), using the lowest estimate.
