On 24 February 2026, Cambodian forces fired one 40mm grenade round toward the Phlan Hin Paet Kon area in Thung Yao, Lalai, Kantharalak (Si Sa Ket) near a Thai patrol base under the Suranaree Task Force. The round landed near a cliff edge approximately 2 kilometers from Phlan Hin Paet Kon, prompting Thai forces to return warning fire with an M79 grenade launcher in accordance with rules of engagement. There were no casualties. Commanders from both sides later coordinated to review the incident and reaffirm adherence to the ceasefire agreement signed on 27 December 2025.
