On 24 February 2026, unidentified militants (coded as TTP) attempted to intercept a former police officer, in the limits of Mattani Police Station in Mattani town (Peshawar, KPK). The former police personnel opened fire, killing one militant and injuring another during the exchange. The assailants then threw a hand grenade, killing the former police official at the scene. Total 2 fatalities and 1 injured.
