On 24 February 2026, a clash erupted between the Taliban and Pakistani Frontier Corps police forces in Dur Baba district, Nangarhar, along the Durand Line, bordering Pakistan's Khyber district (KPK). Pakistan claimed that the Taliban began unprovoked shooting along the border and that Pakistani border guards responded to the Taliban's aggression. Casualties unknown. Pakistan claimed that in border clashes from 21-27 February, 228-274 Taliban forces were killed, 314-400 Taliban were wounded, 73 checkpoints and 115 tanks were destroyed, and 18 checkpoints were seized. Pakistan confirmed the killing of 12 Pakistani soldiers and the wounding of 27 others. However, the Taliban claimed that in border clashes from 21-27 February, 55-75 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 48 others were wounded. The Taliban also confirmed that 13 Taliban forces were killed and 27 others were wounded. A total of 25 confirmed fatalities split across 20 events. 2 split fatalities were coded to this event.
