Air Delivered event in Al Nabatieh, Mazraat Sardah area, Lebanon on Tue 24th February 2026

On 24 February 2026, the Israeli military opened fire and Israeli drones dropped three stun grenades targeting Lebanese Army soldiers while they were setting a new military outpost in Mazraat Sardah (Al Nabatieh, Al Nabatieh) from the IDF's El Hamames military position. The attack coincided with an Israeli drone hovering over the area calling on Lebanese Army soldiers to leave. The Lebanese Army refused to leave the scene. According to a Lebanese Army statement, the Army command ordered the unit to 'reinforce its position, remain deployed there and respond to the source of the gunfire.' The statement added that the incident is being followed up in coordination with the ceasefire supervision committee and with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. The IDF confirmed firing 'warning shots' toward Lebanese soldiers, after the latter were establishing 'an uncoordinated military post' near troops. This came after the military tried to stop the activity via liaison channels.
