On 24 February 2026, in Araguaina (Tocantins), an unidentified gunman on a motorcycle injured three men in a drive-by shooting at an establishment in front of Bandeiras Square. The perpetrator passed the location twice and fired approximately eight shots before fleeing the scene. One victim sustained a leg injury with a fractured tibia, while the others were wounded in the abdomen and arm. A parked truck was also damaged by gunfire. The motive for the attack remains unclear. There were no fatalities.
