SAA event in Edo, Benin City area, Nigeria on Tue 24th February 2026

On 24 February 2026, an unidentified armed group attacked the ADC secretariat in Benin City (Oredo, Edo), destroying canopies, banners, and other parties' property. The attack followed the unveiling of the party's gubernatorial candidate in the secretariat. The attackers later proceeded to the residence of a party's bigwig, where other leaders were meeting, and opened fire at the gate, causing injuries to 3 people as members scampered for safety. ADC accused APC of sponsoring the attack, but the party denied the allegation and attributed the attack to internal factional disputes within the ADC. There were no fatalities.
