On 23 February 2026, near Aung Tha Pyay village (Ye township, Mawlamyine district, Mon state), a combined force of the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), the Ye People's Defense Force, the Karen National Liberation Army (Battalion-27 Company-1), the People's Defense Force - Tactics 33, and the Ta Pin Shwe Htee Column attacked a Myanmar military column of about 150 troops at about 7 am. The two sides then exchanged fire for about 45 minutes. 5 military troops and 2 members of the MSRF were killed. The military also seized some weapons and ammunition from the combined force. 7 fatalities.
