On 23 February 2026, near Pan Pyin village (Thayetchaung township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), the Myanmar military opened fire on a six-wheel truck transporting chicken feed from Dawei town to Thayetchaung town at around 10:30 am. A 39-year-old driver was killed on the spot, and 2 civilian men, aged 23 and 30, sustained injuries.
