SAA event in Ouest, Delmas - Delmas 17 area, Haiti on Mon 23rd February 2026

On 23 February 2026, in Delmas - Delmas 17, Ouest, in the morning, police forces shot and killed four armed gang members. Two of the deceased were identified as active police officers. They were part of a group of six armed abductors moving in two vehicles (one registered to the State Service) whom the police had been chasing from Delmas 48, where they had tried to perpetrate a kidnapping earlier that day. The suspected abductors wore police uniform. The two other accomplices had been killed by the police in the St Louis de Gonzague- Henfrasa -Palais de l'art neighborhood moments before (coded separately). During this operation against kidnappings, the National Police reported two police officers killed and three wounded between Saint Louis de Gonzague and Delmas 17 neighborhoods. 2 police fatalities split across two events. At least 5 fatalities coded here (including 1 police officer). 3 injured.
