On 23 February 2026, a Tebu armed group shot and killed 1 major in the LNA's Military Investment Authority in Qatrun (Murzuq, South). The attack took place after the major confiscated a car from a Tebu man on accusations that he was transporting drugs and refused to return it despite the intervention of Tebu elders. A video shared online showed two armed men getting out of a vehicle and opening fire on the major's car, with some media outlets claiming that he also returned fire. He was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries. Following the incident, the LNA imposed a curfew in Qatrun and sent military reinforcements from outside the city (coded separately).
