On 22 February 2026, a 21-year-old man entered onto the secure perimeter at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach (Florida) with a gas can and a shotgun. According to police reports, when two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy confronted the man and demanded he drop the two items, the man lowered the gas canister but pointed his gun at the officers in a 'shooting position.' The officers then shot and killed the man. Donald Trump was not at Mar-a-Lago at the time of the shooting. People close to the man described his family as 'avid Trump supporters,' but said he had grown dissatisfied with the government following the release of the Epstein files. 1 fatality.
