Property destruction: On 22 February 2026, in Juchitan de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, armed individuals and suspected members of the CJNG burned vehicles and used them to set up a (narco) roadblock. One of the vehicles was an Omisa public transport bus covering the Juchitan-El Espinal route. The bus is known as 'UPSI', which operates between Juchitan and Ciudad Ixtepec. This bus was used to block the road in front of Fraccionamiento Reforma. According to witnesses, the bus was burned by two armed individuals who forced approximately 20 passengers to disembark, reportedly leaving a 'narco message'. Another vehicle was a private vehicle set on fire on Tecnologico Street, next to Technical School No. 50. Likewise, a vehicle known as 'Istmeno' public transportation bus, that was parked in front of the Telmex facilities was also set on fire and a van was burned on the Juchitan-Union Hidalgo highway. Also, a taxi driver of the Crucero line was injured after being attacked (methods unspecified) in front of an OXXO on the Juchitan-La Ventosa road after armed individuals tried to use his vehicle to set up a (narco) roadblock. A total of 14 vehicles were set on fire in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region. This occurred following the killing of the top leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during a military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco earlier that same day (coded separately). Similar incidents were reported in other locations across the state and nationwide (coded separately).
