On 22 February 2026, in Las Canadas, Jalisco, armed men (likely CJNG) shot at a police station and a clash ensued. Six National Guard officers were killed and four were injured. Other versions suggest that the attack also targeted the investigation police forces. This occurred following the killing of the top leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during a military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco earlier that same day (coded separately). Similar incidents were reported in other locations across the state and nationwide (coded separately). Authorities reported the killing of 30 CJNG members and 25 officers of the security forces during clashes between on 22 February in Jalisco involving CJNG members. 6 fatality coded in this event.
