On 22 February 2026, in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, suspected members of the CJNG attacked the National Guard facilities detonating a gas tanker and causing damage to a building and vehicles. During the attack a national guard captain was killed and three officers were injured and were taken to hospital. Another version suggest that the perpetrators used an explosive projectile to attack the facilities. This occurred following the killing of the top leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during a military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco earlier that same day (coded separately). Authorities reported the killing of 30 CJNG members and 25 officers of the security forces during clashes between on 22 February in Jalisco involving CJNG members. 1 fatality coded in this event.
