On 22 February 2026, in Ciudad de Mexico - Tlalpan, there was an armed clash between police officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and armed individuals in Colonia San Andres Totoltepec. Police were seeking the armed individuals for their suspected involvement in the burning of a bus on the Mexico City-Cuernavaca highway (coded separately). An armed individual was killed and two people were arrested. Authorities initially linked the incident to broader violence associated with the killing of the top leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during a military operation in Tapalpa (coded separately), but this was later officially denied, with authorities attributing the attack to a local criminal group. 1 fatality.
