On 22 February 2026, in Valsayn, Tunapuna Piarco, in the early morning, two masked armed men exited a vehicle and shot and killed a man from behind when he was buying pizza at the Naafa Pizza shop, along Bamboo Boulevard (Bamboo Settlement area). The victim tried to run away but collapsed moments later. The attackers approached him once on the ground and shot at him several additional times before fleeing. The motivation was not clarified, although people close to the victim claimed that he was known to the police despite having lived abroad. 1 fatality.
