On 22 February 2026, Wazalendo from Kahuzi Biega clashed with M23 in Kavumu (Kabare, Sud-Kivu), after a Wazalendo was evacuated from a healthcare facility. Casualties unknown. These clashes paralysed traffic between Bukavu and Kavumu. Unclear whether Wazalendo or M23 initiated the clashes.
