On 22 February 2026, between Parana and Sao Salvador (Tocantins) (coded as Parana), military police officers clashed with suspected members of a transnational drug trafficking group, killing four of them, during an operation targeting an international drug trafficking network, after reports that the group had entered the state from Goias. Police intercepted an aircraft carrying approximately 500 kilograms of cocaine base. The other suspects escaped into a wooded area. In the following days, security forces conducted search operations to locate and arrest the fleeing suspects, using aircraft and drones. 4 fatalities.
