On 22 February 2026, Fano clashed with ENDF in Kebeles surrounding Shendi town (Wemberma, West Gojam, Amhara), and Shendi town (coded separately), resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries on both sides. The clash started when Fano attacked the ENDF military ground and mechanized units advancing from Shendi toward Heret Kebele through Burafer and Dend. Unspecified number of fatalities coded as 10, split across the two locations and coded as 5.
