On 22 February 2026, in between Heroica Zitacuaro and Aputzio de Juarez, Michoacan de Ocampo, unidentified individuals and Civil Guard officers clashed in colonia Naranjo. This attack took place following the killing of the top leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during a military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, earlier the same day (coded separately). Similar incidents were reported in other locations across the state and nationwide (coded separately). Casualties unknown.
