On 21 February 2026, in Hpakant township (Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military from the Northern Military Command Headquarters conducted airstrikes and dropped at least 4 bombs on Area-9 of the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) using a jet fighter at around 9:45 am, without an armed clash occurring. Casualties unknown.
