On 21 February 2026, TPNPB attacked the PT Kristalin Ekalestari mining company's security post in Biha village (Makimi district, Nabire regency, Central Papua province). They burned the security post. The company's security guard and an Indonesian soldier who were guarding the post died. They also damaged three motorbikes. The rebels claimed that they confiscated two SS1 guns, four magazines containing 120 rounds of ammunition, and a G2 pistol from the company's security post. The TPNPB spokesperson also claimed that the attack was a form of resistance to what they claimed were illegal gold mining activities in the TPNPB operational area.
