On 21 February 2026, in Pway Na Hpar village (Ywangan township, Danu Self-Administered Zone, Shan-South state), an unidentified armed group opened fire on a married couple in their home for unknown reasons. The woman was killed, and her husband sustained severe injuries. A local source claimed that the People's Defense Force might be responsible for the attack. According to Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, the Danu State National Defense Army claimed that the man was a Pyu Saw Htee member, although this could not be verified by the Shwe Phee Myay News Agency. 1 fatality.
