Air Delivered event in Paktika, Barmal area, Afghanistan on Sat 21st February 2026

On 21 February 2026, Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes on a madrasa (religious school), a mosque, and a cattle farm in Barmal district, Paktika, bordering Pakistan's North and South Waziristan area (KPK), destroying the school. Pakistan claimed that seven positions in the provinces of Paktika, Nangarhar, and Khost were targeted, including TTP and ISKP hideouts, killing more than 100 individuals, including a senior operational commander of al-Qaeda and a deputy of Hafiz Gul Bahadur's group. Pakistan said that these centers were involved in planning suicide attacks in Bannu, Bajaur, and a mosque on the outskirts of Islamabad. The Taliban claimed that civilians, including women and children, were targeted in the bombings between 21 and 22 February, and that dozens were killed and wounded across these provinces.
