On 21 February 2026, in Daule (Guayas), five armed individuals killed a man while he was at the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant at kilometer 4.5 on the Daule road. The individuals fired at least 80 times at the vehicle, using weapons of different calibers, including rifles. The victim had multiple prior criminal records, including drug trafficking and robbery, and was a high-value target for police due to being a member of the Los Tiguerones gang. Authorship is unknown. 1 fatality
