On 21 February 2026, tribesmen of Bayt al-Asal and Bayt al-Sawlani ambushed and clashed with Houthi police patrol in Sanaa - Bani Hawat (Bani Al Harith, Amanat al Asimah), killing 7 Houthis fighters, including the director of criminal investigations in Bani Al Harith district, on one hand, and killing 1 tribesman from Bayt al-Asal and 2 from Bayt al-Sawlani, in addition to injuring a number of others. The reason behind the clash was the Houthi attempt to seize land belonging to the tribesmen, claiming it belonged to the endowments, while other sources claimed that the clash occurred as the Houthis returned from an arrest operation of a murder suspect. 10 total fatalities.
