On 21 February 2026, Wazalendo from PARECO-FF, Mayi Mayi (Lamuka) and Raia Mutomboki clashed with M23 around Kawele, near the center of Kibabi (Masisi, Nord-Kivu). Casualties unknown. Wazalendo announced that they recovered three PKM machine guns, eight AK-47 assault rifles, and a 12.7 mm heavy weapon, and several boxes of ammunition. Hundreds of civilians fled toward Kibabi, Rubaya, Ngungu and the eastern part of the territory.
