On 21 February 2026, Rapid Support Forces attacked the positions of the Chadian army in the vicinity of Tine Military Camp (Iriba, Wadi Fira). While undisclosed sources mentioned the death of 8 soldiers, some sources claimed the death of 5 Chadian soldiers and other sources specified the death of 10 Chadian soldiers. International medias reported the death of 5 Chadian soldiers, 3 civilians and the injury of twelve other civilians. Chadian sources mentioned the death of 6 Chadian soldiers as well as 8 civilian deaths. 5 fatalities coded as per the lowest estimate available. Following this clash, the Chadian authorities closed all the border crossings with Sudan on 23 February 2026, also blocking the transport of Humanitarian aid as well as moving troops near the Sudanese border (coded separately).
