SAA event in Para, Bagre area, Brazil on Sat 21st February 2026

On 21 February 2026, in Bagre (Para), military police officers clashed with a drug trafficker during an operation on Barao do Rio Branco Avenue. The suspect opened fire at officers during an attempted arrest. He fled toward the river and attempted to evade capture among docked boats but was apprehended with the support of a police vessel. A .32 caliber revolver with six rounds, three of which had been fired, was seized. The perpetrator was suspected of being a local leader of a drug trafficking group and had prior criminal records for violent crimes, property crimes, and drug trafficking. There were no fatalities.
