On February 27, Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that Pakistani airstrikes targeted Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia in the early hours of midnight, reports Amu TV. He claimed that no one was harmed in the airstrikes. Airstrikes were heard in various areas in the city of Kabul, including the Makrorayan township in downtown Kabul, Qasaba in the northeast and Darul Aman in the west. The strikes followed Taliban attacks of February 26, on Pakistani military outposts in border areas.
