On February 23, two Policemen, identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gurnam Singh and Home Guard Ashok Kumar, were killed in Adhian village in Dorangla PS limits in Gurdaspur District of Punjab near the International Border (IB), reports The Tribune. Initial findings suggest the officers were shot while asleep, pointing to a targeted attack rather than a coordinated strike. Posters from a little-known group, Tehreek-e-Taliban Hindustan (TTH), circulated on social media claiming responsibility. Police dismissed the claim, citing no known footprint in India and the possibility of diversionary tactics. Investigators are probing personal motives and cross-border links. CCTV footage shows five bike-borne suspects near the scene.
