Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on February 16 foiled a major terror attack plan and arrested three terrorists facilitators during a joint operation in Chakra Goth of Korangi Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh, reports Aaj TV. A Rangers spokesman said that the arrested suspects were identified as Yasir Arfat, Khuda Bakhsh, and Zahid Hussain alias Barkzai. Authorities recovered five kilograms of explosives, a 10-meter primacord, three detonators, and one kilogram of ball bearings. Also, 250 books containing extremist literature and a laptop were recovered from their possession. According to the spokesperson, the suspects were involved in radicalising students to join banned outfit and distributing extremist literature. They had also hidden explosive materials at different locations in sensitive areas in Karachi to carry out attacks.
