IED event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Malangi, Bajaur District area, Pakistan on Mon 16th February 2026

At least 13 people including 11 Security Forces (SFs) personnel and two civilians were killed while seven others sustained injuries when terrorists orchestrated a vehicle bourne suicide attack on a Madrassa (religious seminary) in the Malangi area of Mamund tehsil (revenue unit) in Bajaur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 16, reports The Khorasan Diary. A six year-old child was among the dead. “It’s a vehicle bourne suicide attack on a Madrassa which was previously a hideout for Taliban affiliates and was currently under control of the security forces and police” an unnamed official from the area said. The building has been completely razed to the ground and rescue efforts are under way to pull out those under the rubble.
