Two soldiers were killed during a landmine attack on a terrorist military column advancing toward Thae Mae village in Paungde Township, Bago Region, according to Comrade Shadow, the Intelligence and Information Officer for Pyay District Battalion 1, who spoke with Khit Thit Media.
At approximately 8:30 AM on March 2, a military column of about 50 personnel from Light Infantry Battalion 10 (LIB 10), based in Pauk Taw village, set out for a "territory clearing" operation toward Thae Mae village.
Revolutionary forces targeted the advancing column with landmines as they reached a sugarcane plantation south of Thae Mae village. The blast killed two soldiers instantly and left three others critically injured. Following the attack, the military retaliated by firing heavy and light weaponry into Thae Mae village, resulting in the deaths of three cows hit by the shelling.
The military column, unable to proceed with their operation after sustaining casualties, retreated to their base at LIB 10, carrying the deceased and wounded soldiers with them.
