On 20 February 2026, military troops in collaboration with police and vigilantes clashed with a Katsina militia during a rustling attempt in Gogalo Fulani settlement, along Nigeria-Niger border coded to the LGA HQ Jibia (Jibia, Katsina). The troops recovered 45 rustled animals while the militia escaped into nearby bush paths. One person was injured. There were no fatalities.
