On 20 February 2026, in Hakha town (Hakha township, Hakha district, Chin state), the Myanmar military troops from the IB-266 and police forces shot and killed a 31-year-old man who was an electricity office staff member and beat and arrested two staff members as a drone had been allegedly launched from the office premises. Khit Thit Media reported that he was shot and killed after the military and police forces raided the electricity office. Khonumthung News and The Voice of Chinland - VOC reported that he was shot and killed while going home from the office on a motorcycle. 1 fatality.
