Air Delivered event in Bekaa, Rayak area, Lebanon on Fri 20th February 2026

On 20 February 2026, Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike on a building in Rayak (Zahle, Bekaa), killing at least 12 individuals. Among the fatalities were the son of a Hezbollah commander and founder Hussein Mohammad Yaghi, as well as another Hezbollah member. Hussein Yaghi reportedly held an executive role within the party's organizational structure, linked to the leadership of its General Secretariat. The targeted building, located along the Rayak-Baalbek highway, was situated near Hezbollah's 'Qard Al Hassan' financial institution. Around 30 others (likely civilians) including foreigners were injured and transported to Rayak Hospital. Lebanon's Health Ministry noted that the casualty figures remain preliminary. Significant destruction was reported at the strike site, where civil defense teams were deployed to search for survivors. In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that a 'large number' of Hezbollah operatives affiliated with the group's missile array were killed in airstrikes across the Beqaa Valley. The IDF added that it targeted three command centers belonging to the group in the Baalbek area, stating that the operatives had been identified as working to accelerate readiness and force build-up efforts while planning rocket fire toward the State of Israel. A Hezbollah official, however, stated that eight members of the group were killed in the airstrikes (coded to this event).
