Around 20 February 2026, in El Carmen (Manabi), armed men killed two people, and their bodies were found in the La Restrepo sector. The victims were bound and had their faces covered, and had multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head. The victims had been reported missing by their relatives since 15 February. Authorship and motivations are unknown. 2 fatalities.
