On 19 February 2026, in Thaik Tu Kone village (Gyobingauk township, Thayarwady district, Bago-West region), a combined force of the Gyobingauk Hero Guerrilla Force (People's Defense Force - Thayarwady District Battalion-3801 Company-5) and the People's Defense Force - Thayarwady District (Battalion-3802 Company-6) attacked the Thaik Tu Kone checkpoint stationed by about 20 Myanmar military troops at about 6:15 am. In response, the military returned fire. Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that 5 military troops were killed, and several others sustained injuries. 5 fatalities.
