On 19 February 2026, in Briceno (Antioquia), suspected members of the 36th FARC dissident front shot and killed a social leader, environmental defender, and member of the Morron Council of Communal Action (JAC), of which he had been president years earlier. The victim had also been displaced from his territory after armed groups threatened him over suspected drug use. There is no further information on the motives behind the attack. The area is also known to have a presence of the Gulf Clan and the Los Cabuyos peasant guerrilla. 1 fatality.
