On 18 February 2026, in Loma Santa Cruz, Oaxaca, armed individuals from Santo Domingo Petapa aboard 10 vans entered the Mixe community and shot at houses, killing a farmer whose body was found on 27 February. The attack was suspectedly carried out due to an agrarian dispute. Following the incident, 30 families fled their homes and moved to Arroyo Cuchara, in the municipality of Juan Guichicovi. The same armed group carried out a second attack on 23 February (coded separately). 1 fatality.
