On 18 February 2026, armed clashes erupted between armed tribesmen and a Houthi security leader in Uzlat Bani Al Jalabi region (Ar Rujum, Al Mahwit). The cash resulted in the killing of the Houthi leader, who was conducting a security campaign in the area when he intervened to resolve a dispute between the armed tribesman and an owner of a water drilling rig. The armed man flee after shooting the leader.
