On 18 February 2026, overnight, military forces from the Rapid Intervention Battalion clashed and repelled an attack by ISWAP/Boko Haram (JAS) militants (coded as Boko Haram (JAS) based on militant activity in Mayo-Sava) at a military post in Sammana, coded to the closest most populated area, Mora (Mora, Mayo-Sava, Extreme-Nord). 6 military officers were injured, 1 military officer and 5 militants, including a white man were killed. The military officers recovered 8 AK-47 rifles, 11 magazine boxes, 1 PKM machine gun (Serial No. M80325113), 3 rockets (one anti-personnel and two anti-tank), 1 grenade launcher, over 350 rounds of mixed ammunition, 1 motorcycle and 1 camera.
