On 18 February 2026, in Las Guacamayas, Michoacan, a woman who was a ministerial police officer (likely off-duty) was shot and killed while traveling with her husband in Colonia Ejidal by armed individuals who intercepted their vehicle. Her husband was seriously injured and transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The husband was also a systems engineer. Both victims were employees of the state prosecutor's office. 1 fatality, 1 injured.
