On 18 February 2026, in Leon de los Aldama, Guanajuato, unknown armed individuals shot at police officers of the Secretariat of Security, Prevention, and Citizen Protection in Colonia Prados de la Luz during a routine patrol. Patrol cars were damaged and one rifle was stolen from a unit. Hours later, authorities recovered the stolen rifle and arrested eight suspects. There were no casualties.
